At the Wine and Heritage Hotel Roxanich in Motovun, Istria, the presentation of FlosOlei 2019 - the most important and influential guide for best extra vrigin olive oil was held .
The guide was presented in Croatia for the first time to mark its ten year anniversary and to acknowledge the region of Istria for the 4th time in a row as the best olive oil making region in the world. The guide gathers olive oil makers from 5 continents and 52 countries to make a collection of 500 best malkers out of which in 2019 Croatia had 81 out of which 79 were from Istria.
Istria managed to do so well in competition because the makers had enough intuition to produce a wide spectre of variations and combinations with best olive oils. The high standards were achieved because of hard work, a combination of inovation , tradition and education. Special care is given to harvesting and processing because those processes are crucial to the taste and nutritional value of oil.
